Bill: Thwarting Foreign Religious Extremism Among Our Children
Details
Submitted by[?]: Doron Akigansk Kommunist Parti (MLN)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2111
Description[?]:
NOTING that there is a rise in fervent religious extremism in our neighbors. The Communist Party drafts this bill for debate and voting in the parliament. We've outlawed religious schools in our land, seeing that they become used to brainwash and indoctrinate the children against our nation. We propose that Prayer held inside schools should be outlawed as well. We do not need the Quanzar-religious-nut-sympathizers brainwashing our children. We propose the immediate outlawing of school-prayer inside Deltaria. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy with respect to prayer in schools.
Old value:: The government leaves this decision up to the schools themselves.

Proposed: Teacher-led prayers in schools are forbidden.

Message | Our current policy is that religious schools are not allowed. The NSP would like to see religious schools allowed, but only by recognised religions, and teacher-led prayer sessions allowed within religious schools. |

Message | The MP would prefer to leave this decision up to the schools themselves - we see no reason why the many should suffer without freedom of religion for demands of the few. |
Date | 00:44:26, September 14, 2005 CET | From | Sedliacke Povstanie | To | Debating the Thwarting Foreign Religious Extremism Among Our Children |
Message | The TP does not quite understand what schools would use prayers if religious schools were outlawed. But we're in favour of the decision that it should be up to the school if they wish to do so. And also only with certain recognised religions. |
Date | 05:36:51, September 14, 2005 CET | From | CNI Party | To | Debating the Thwarting Foreign Religious Extremism Among Our Children |

Date | 23:59:34, September 14, 2005 CET | From | Democratic-Republican Centrist Party | To | Debating the Thwarting Foreign Religious Extremism Among Our Children |
Message | The DRC agrees with the MP upon this issue and sees freedom of religion an important value. As long as no one is fighting in the schools over religion or no one is beating religious propaganda into the children, I see no reason for such restrictions. |
