Bill: Non-Essential Services Privatisation Act, 2547

Details

Submitted by[?]: Federal Rutanian Libertarian Union

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2548

Description[?]:

For the reason that we no longer believe that the state sanctioned thievery that is our income tax rate is necessary, and that in order to reduce the taxation burden on Rutanians - which acts as a hindrance to growth and prosperity - we must reduce the amount of non-essential services that are funded by the Government. For these reasons, and for the sake of greater innovation, cheaper prices, better quality service and service delivery - we believe that all remaining publically funded programs may be cut. In this instance, we believe that civil policing can be provided by private security firms, paid for by their customers in local neighbourhoods, et cetera.

MessageRidiculous. Private security firms cannot be employed as customers of their local neighbourhoods as, for instance, a neighbourhood of whites could instruct their security firm to beat up and prevent from passing through anyone who is not white and vice versa.

Furthermore their impartiality and independence is non existent under this proposal.

MessageThis could be an unnecessary over-liberalisation which could lead to anarchy and chaos. Opposed.

MessageWell, seeing as how companies want to maximise profit for themselves, I do not see why they would want to target any one group of people - in fact it is more costly for companies to discriminate against people in the way you described because it in turn limits the market available to them. If this private security firm were to ever target blacks in preference to whites, then their market would only be limited to the white populace which will in turn limits their market. This is the operation of the market that we have utmost faith in, and as it leads to better quality services - we believe it is good, overall, for Rutania.
