As Sekowo has the 4th weakest economy in Terra (based on GDP), we need to boost the economy by creating more jobs through given greater incentive for companies to offer more jobs and for Sekowans to keep more money in their pockets to spend. Current surplus: 10,617,135,003 SEK Corporation Tax: ---------------------- @35% = 13,080,324,645 SEK @ 1% = 373,723,561 SEK @30% = 11,211,706,838 SEK Diff. Corp. = 1,868,617,807 SEK Sales Tax ------------- @18% = 39,882,182,022 SEK @ 1% = 2,215,676,779 SEK @15% = 33,235,151,685 SEK Diff. Sales = 6,647,030,337 SEK Surplus Difference ------------------------- Diff. Corp. + Diff Sales = 8,515,648,144 SEK Remaining Surplus = Current Surplus - Surplus Difference = 2,101,486,859 SEK As the economy of Sekowo grows, we can expect even greater growth potential thus giving a better standard of living to our people. |

Message | We are against. OOC: RP using the economy really is'nt a god idea since the feature was neve rimplimented and thusly no amount fo changes would actually change things. |

Message | OOC: It means that for the most part we don't ut to much emphasis on it and assume we have an economy similiar to that of France or the Scandinavian countries, not among the top, but still large enough. Also, the SEK is tied to the US dollar, for future reference, though that's because it's easy to claculate military purchases that way, we could tie it to something else, but it's never been an issue before. |

Message | OOC: Ja. Pegging the SEK to the USD is what I am using for the army purchases. With regards to the tax cuts, it makes sense to lower them with a surplus because we aren't storing the surplus anywhere. So, either increase budget spending or reduce taxes and "increase" the economy. |

Message | OOC: I've always assumed, and it could be assumed under my governments that surplus money was simply given back to the people, sort of like in the United States with tax returns. |

Message | We support! Surpluses are usually kept by governments, never heard of tax rebates when the government collects too much tax. |

Message | [[FDP: Tax rebates are common in the US.]] While we would prefer further reduction of income taxes, we would support this bill. |

Message | OOC: Tax rebates are common in the U.S.? Aren't you guys in a heck of a deficit? A decrease in income taxes does not create more jobs quicker than lower corporation taxes. |

Message | [[Yes we are, but the Democrats have a policy of spend, then tax (which usually doesn't work out), and the Republicans have a policy of cut taxes, and then spend (which also usually doesn't work out). John McCain is the first major presidential candidate I've heard of in ages which has even mentioned paying down the deficit, and he's the only one I'm aware of to promise to veto pork-barrel legislation in an effort to bring spending under control.]] |

Message | OOC: Frankly, I think McCain will get ellected by the "vote for the least bad candidate" principal, I'd vote from him if I could (5 months too young, though Illinios, for all its crap, was talking about lowering voting age to 17, not like it would make it in time). |

Message | OOC: Ja. I heard about McCain and his paying down deficit policy. NPP, it wasn't ages ago. Clinton had a debt-paying policy too, albeit only public debt. It's greatly because of him that the U.S. maintained a low debt-to-GDP ratio. However, due to Bush, I think McCain's economic balance sheet, should he be the next president, would look similar to Clinton's where spending is reduced, public debt is reduced but national debt increases because there still exists a n overall deficit. I don't think we will be seeing a true U.S. surplus in our lifetime unless something dramatic changes. However, as long as GDP increases at a greater rate than debt, overall economic situation is still positive. |

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself. |
