Message | Article 1 is terrific since the sales tax is a regressive tax which hurts the poor worst of all. As regards article 2, though, we suggest the current rate is maintained, if not altogether eliminated. Such a high luxury tax rate will only lead to a reduction in spending; what makes luxuries luxuries is the fact that we do not need them in order to survive. If luxuries suddenly cost so much more, people will find ways to do without them. |
