Bill: Constitutional Amendment #1

Details

Submitted by[?]: Kanjoran Imperial Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2111

Description[?]:

Changes names to new, better versions but with identical purposes as the old
We don't care that much about the names, just as long as they are more exciting than the old, boring ones
Feel free to propose others

Parts 1 and 2 make political science sense, since these two offices are actually the same thing for us

MessageWe think we should change the region names, maybe even to Protectorate, but not something bulky like Independent Protectorate.

The same with Article 3-- We prefer it shortened: Grand Assembly would be fine.

The President should probably be changed to Prime Minister, since he chairs the cabinet. There's no need to get more complicated than that.

MessageGrand isn't a nice word; it lifts the titled person above most others.

MessageTrue...I wouldn't mind just "Assembly" if people want to move beyond "Parliament" because it sounds too plain-vanilla for them.

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI).

Random quote: "Suburbia is where the developer bulldozes out the trees, then names the streets after them." - Bill Vaughn
