Bill: Anarch Anakrousite Reform Bill - Pension Plans

Details

Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2111

Description[?]:

The AAP believes that Likatonians should be allowed to make their OWN pension choices, without undue pressure or leverage from the government.

We believe that, in the interests of a free market, and the power of market forces, Likatonian private companies should 'own' pension plans, and that contribution to such plans should be entirely optional. Our Likatonian citizens should be allowed to provide for themselves as they see fit.

MessageResponse to the LPE: We apologise to our comrades in the LPE, but the LPE Bill "Pensions" seems to be dead in the water. While we feel that the LPE is heading in the right direction (with optional private pensions), the LPE still maintains the mandatory pension... which means many of those in Likatonia who most NEED pension protection, will have no 'choices'... since their money will already have been 'spent' on a government scheme.

We believe that the Likatonian government can thrive under the legislation WE suggest, by effectively marketing a 'state' pension as a 'private' pension.... thus giving CHOICE, and allowing the market to decide.

MessageThe AAP intends to push this Bill to vote soon, and begs indulgence of the LPE - the AAP hopes that the LPE will choose to endorse this paper in the senate.

MessageThat would be flipfloping of the worst degree, so regretfully as we fully intend to support our own (agreeably rather dead) proposal we cannot support this one, though it may be preferable to the present state. I think it can safely be said that it will pass without us anyway.

MessageResponse to the LPE: We appreciate your viewpoint on the matter. If you do not feel you can 'sincerely' support the AAP Bill, we respect and appreciate why.

However, we would like to express that the LPE vote IS important to the AAP, even if this motion DOES pass without support from the LPE. We would be saddened by that loss.
