Bill: Adult Age Regularisation Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: United Liberal Alliance
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2041
Description[?]:
This bill seeks to reduce that age at which people are considered adult from 18 to 16, to coincide with the age at which compulsory education ends. This bill recognises the maturity of a majority of our 16 year olds and seeks to give them the status of adults to account for this. It will also allow those who choose not to go on to higher education to enter the job market on an equal footing to those older than them and prevent discrimination against them because of them being 'children.' |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
