Bill: Sturm und Drang JIHAD - The Oncoming Storm (vi)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2552

Description[?]:

A Cabinet reshuffle.

To recognise PCA peaceful action: The proposed cabinet allows another seat to be attributed to the PCA central executive.

To recognise positive impact of the LRA in recent months: The proposed cabinet allows the LRA an equal distribution of seats with the PCA.

To recognise the contentious history of the GLNF, and their current internal affairs investigations for potential warcrimes: The proposed cabinet reduces the number of available seats to GLNF candidates to two.

We recommend that GLNF assume control of the Environment department. Let those who are being considered for their involvement in the CAUSE of the environmental distresses of this nation, be the instrument of it's cure, also.

The DWP are expected to continue soldiering on, assuming four government departments.

Sturm und Drang JIHAD are suggested as taking TEMPORARY control of three departments, until either the GLNF candidates are exonerated, or further seats are attributed to PCA or LRA.

MessageThis is merely an anti-CLP coalition with the inclusion of some terrorists.

MessageThe defence seat appears to be empty (OOC: I do check that kind of thing when I suggested a new cabinet), so it's not unreasonable to suggest filling it. Is there a specific reason we should have exempted the GLNF? It sounds like sourgrapes to us.

As for 'inclusion of terrorists'... the biggest terror group in Likatonian history is the CLP, and not involved in THIS cabinet. Massing troops against civilians on legitimate industrial action is not to be forgiven.

MessageThe Defence seat is empty because the GLNF withdrew just before you proposed the cabinet. You have no problem giving the GLNF the defence post?

Very strange.

MessageWe wonder what it is, exactly, that the CLP are skirting so furiously around. They seem to have two modes of communication - avoiding the issue, and making stuff up. Which would it be in this case?

The defence seat IS empty - we know this, CLP -we told you. As for when that was, we don't know - the seat was vacant when we checked who was in which seats, and who had how many, that's the extent of our knowledge.

As it stands - we have no real squablles with the CLP occupying the defence seat, no. The only party that ahs called for the armed forces to be employed against our OWN citizens was the CLP, and it will be a cold day in hell before we propose THEM for that seat.

MessageThe seat was left vacant just before you proposed the cabinet - check the Likatonia Daily for confirmation of dates. And the GLNF were fully supportive of Likatonian military operations, we may de-classify internal communications of the previous government to prove the point.

MessageWe are not arguing about when the seat became vacant. We have already said we WERE aware of the vacancy DURING the construction of this proposal. We are unsure quite what it is that the CLP think we should have done - cancelled creating a new cabinet, because we found that there were holes in the old one?

We await the declassification of internal communications. At the moment, it looks like the CLP wants us to act according to information we don't have.
