Bill: Geographical Naming Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Tudeh Party of Quanzar

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2114

Description[?]:

In order to facilitate proper geographic and cartographic studies of the nation, we declare that:

1. The nation's capital city be Nicomopolis, in the national subdivision of Nicoma. Having the capital on an island ensures security.
2. The national subdivisions shall be known as Departments.

In addition, the official name of the country shall be changed to the "Union of Quanzari Soviets".

MessageWe're deciding on a capital rather than a capitol, and if we're to have proper international relations we need somewhere that other nations can base their embassies.

MessageI've added the proposal to change the nation's name to the UQS. However, as I am not confident that the Nihilists will vote in favour and that this bill will fail by a small margin to win 2/3 of all votes, I shan't move to the voting phase until the Nihilists agree with this bill or elections that see parties that support the bill win enough seats.

MessageWe cannot agree to this bill, it totally removes the essence of the nation. Whilst the government parties may be socialists we feel this is an attempt to eradicate the nation and turn us into a godless dicatorship.

MessageLet me restate that this has nothing to do with the ideology of the parties, but it's simply the economical system that has been the foundation of the Democratical Emirate for 20 years.

The Emir is an office that does not exist anymore and it's just as pointless to keep its name on our country.
