Bill: Reform of Eminent Domain

Details

Submitted by[?]: People's Radical Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2555

Description[?]:

The PRP opposed the most recent changes to eminent doman legislation to prevent private property from being seized for any reason. We feel that a sensible middle-ground can be found here, whereby an independent ombudsman can be called upon to determine whether the project is sufficiently "vital" as to require the use of the formerly private property.

Random fact: Particracy is set in the fictional world of Terra, which mirrors the real world of today and yet is not quite like it.

Random quote: "In Germany they first came for the Communists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me--and by that time no one was left to speak up." - Pastor Martin Niemoller
