MessageOf course this would not entail a ban upon students praying while at school, so please don't bring this up in debate.

Thank you,
the PMP

MessageWould it not make this a freedom FROM religion act, if it reduced the prayers allowed in schools? In any case, we would prefer the schools to make their own decisions on this issue. If they are located in a 100% Catholic, Protestant, Muslim or Hindu neighborhood, should they not be allowed to make their students feel more comfortable? I doubt that any schools are trying to force a faith that most parents don't believe in on their students. If they are, that will surely be rectified at the next school board election when the idiots who annoyed the parents are removed from office.

In any case, we do not support this bill.

MessageWe have religious schools in the empire. If parents wish their children to participate in teacher-led prayer, then let them send their children to a religious school.

MessageTricky distinctions here,,,, Some teacher led prayer can be enormously beneficial to the right groups of children under the right circumstances. A 100% ban seems to damn those who seek only to express the freedom of prayer. Some of these groups NEED a teacher figure to lead them.

MessageWell, we support the PMP in this bill.
We think prayer shouldn't be allowed in public schools run by the Empire.
These teachers are payed by the government, you can't dismiss them on a school board.
In this case we believe this bill should only affect public schools and let privat schools do their own stuff with the prayers.

MessagePrecicely. Government run institutions have no place in favouring one religion over another, and public schools certainly should never be allowed to religiously indoctrinate their students. Private and religious schools shall remain untouched by this legislation.
