Bill: Budget proposal of April 2556
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Rationalists (PrCoa)
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2557
Description[?]:
Aloria has been blessed with reasonably steady growth in recent decades. As a consequence, it has become predictable that Aloria's budget generates a surplus every few years. The Finance Ministry's unspoken policy has been to recommend alotting that surplus to budget priorities once the surplus reaches about $1-2 billion ALOs. The surplus now stands at $1 billion ALOs. Since our coalition partners have requested more funding for Education and Culture, we recommend that the surplus be allocated to that ministry. Finance Minister Star would also like to call for a General Budget Review. She asks that once the new Cabinet is seated, each Minister submit a brief statement discussing how funds in his or her Ministry are spent, and recommending whether, in the next budget, funds for that ministry should be increased, cut, or remain the same; and if increases or cuts are recommended, by how much. |

Message | I would like it if we took half of what we're giveing to education to Trade and Industry, bringing it up to a billion. I'll vote for this as stands though. |
