Message | We would have proposed a complete 360 however we believe it is better to build bridges, on issues we can compromise on, than to burn them. Research conducted by our Dr. Garal, former Minister of Health and Social Services, to show that cannabis can be effectively used to reduce the effects of glaucoma and other eye disorders. The benefits of it far outweigh any concerns and through its legalization we can monitor its quality and quantity in addition to taxing it. This results in healthier citizens and income to cover the costs of the programs plus, perhaps, a little more to fund other necessary programs. Normally I would be the last person to support a bill legalizing any drug but Dr. Garal's research, substantiated by other medical researchers and doctors over lengthy periods of time, is quite convincing. -Roger Evars, COM Party Leader |
