Bill: APC - Semi-autonomy for Kuratha
Details
Submitted by[?]: Republican Coalition
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2558
Description[?]:
Kuratha has historically been a region slightly separated from the rest of the nation, having neither the Gao-Showa legacy of the east nor the Hulstrian aristocracy of the north. In the recent class between the secularists and religious groups the TJU and RSF seized Kuratha, essencially separating it from the government until the collapse of the RSF. Since the Aneist's re-emergence in politics they have yet again gained the majority in Kuratha, to such an extent, Kelas Setaros (representative of the Aneists in Kuratha) gained over 50% of the vote, the nearest competitors drawing in only just over a quarter of the number of votes. Although Forge relies on the extreme successes in the crownland he is fully aware that such a situation is neither good for the governance of the province (the Aneists essencially being able to do as they will) nor for democracy. As such, the suggestion is that an election separate for the crowland from the general election be held in the same month to decide the leader of the crownland, in which individuals run rather then parties (to reinstate the democracy of choice). The election will also elect an assembly to rule the province with the elected "Archon" to rule the province. This assembly rules the province and is essencially self-running. However, to maintain Kuratha as a part of Greater Hulstria, this assembly is answerable to the Lord Protector and Imperial Diet in all things. As a rule however, a 50% support is needed to intervene in the affairs of the crownland. |

Message | "Kuratha has historically been a region slightly separated from the rest of the nation, having neither the Gao-Showa legacy of the east nor the Hulstrian aristocracy of the north. " That is in no way a factual statement. Kuratha was and is a core territory of the Hulstrian Empire, with cities like Vorm and Marchau producing high level aristocratic families who have served their country will grace and respect. Kuratha was founded by colonists like the rest of Hulstria and this tradtion of seperation you speak of does not exist. The APC needs to stop trying to rewrite history to suit their needs, especially when it is such a blatant lie and contradicts established history. As The Reactionary Party in Hulstria, we know when statements conflict with historical facts, as our ancestors over saw those historical events. |

Message | We are aware that Kuratha is Hulstrian by history (as is the entire nation if you reach back to its founding days) and the aristocracy held as much sway there as in Budenlar or Hulstria itself. However, it would be not too much of a stretch to state that this is no longer the case in the recent past, until very recently it was the seat of the socialists, not the aristocracy, a power which was around long before the Aneists even arrived in Drania. |
