Bill: Final Compromise Budget Proposal

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Rationalists (PrCoa)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2558

Description[?]:

We had a good discussion about this budget. We were able to give all participating parties a little bit of what they wanted. We hope it gives everyone involved some sense of ownership in this budget.

Highlights of the compromise budget:

1) Overall REDUCTION in spending. Just think libertarians. Had you participated, you could have taken credit for that.

2) Significant reduction in defense outlays. All participating parties were in agreement that defense spending should be reduced.

3) Significant increases in nearly all other budget areas, except food and agriculture.

4) Because Aloria no longer federally subsidizes agricultural programs, food and agriculture is reduced. The remaining budget mostly goes to food storage programs to handle crises.

Random fact: RP laws follow the same passing rules as in-game variable laws. Laws that are not of a constitutional nature require a simple majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. Laws that are of a constitutional nature require a 2/3 majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. RP laws may be abolished a simple majority vote this applies to ANY RP law.
