Bill: Divorce Law Reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: Jewish Mothers' Union
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2560
Description[?]:
Divorce should always be a last resort, and should only be contemplated after a couple have done everything to get a marriage back on track. However, the law needs to recognise that human relationships do sometimes break down, and that appropriate legal remedies need to be available to deal with this. We propose that these reforms should be accompanied by an increase in state funding to top quality, family counselling services. Melanie Koffenbaum (Leader of the JMU) |
