Message | Price is the mechanism which balances supply and demand. If prices is fixed at an arbitrarily low point, supply will be low with it. And that is exactly what is happening here. The supply of pharmaceutical drugs is being kept low simply because economically it is the point at which the pharmaceutical companies make the most money. There are shortages of important drugs simply because it is not economically feasible to produce larger quantities. Clearly this must stop. We must remove price controls, for the benefit of ordinary people. |
