Bill: The Facilitation of Justice and Security Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Hutori Conservative Council
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2563
Description[?]:
"In light of recent events, the Hutori Conservative Council feels that it is necessary, now more than ever, to properly facilitate our police forces to ensure the adequate protection and security of Hutori's citizens. Currently, police officers carry only non-lethal weapons, excluding special units, and this is extremely debilitating when it comes to law enforcement, aswell as self-protection . Current police officers are sent into potentially life-risking environments without the capacity to so much as defend themselves, let alone the public. Criminals have a distinct advantage over police officers at present. If the law is to be taken seriously, we need to ensure that our police officers are adequately equiped to defend it. The Hutori Conservative Council does not want a nation full of criminals who are significantly more heavily armed than our police officers. We want to ensure that justice is brought swiftly and efficiently; we want to ensure that our officers not only have the capacity to protect themselves, but also their public from harm; we want to ensure the security and stability of this nation, particularly following the terroristic assassination of our ex-leader recently. Thankyou" - Wesley Keaton (President of the Hutori Conservative Council) |

Message | Sorry, but bills like these will only lead to an escalation. Police officers have to set the example: we have to keep our pacifist ideas if we want our people to accept them! |
