Description[?]:
Teachers shall be given authority over their schools, in how they are to be run. Teachers and administrators shall be granted 50% of the ownership of each public school, to be divided between them and used however they see fit. The government shall retain the other 50% of the property, but shall accept any offer considered to be fair for the purchase of this portion. After this, the private sector shall be given domain over the full control and ownership of the schools. Democratic Workers Councils composed of teachers and administrators shall neither be encouraged nor discouraged, but permitted as long as they can survive without government involvement. Which school the children go to shall be decided by the parents as well, with the government providing all families with vouchers sufficient to pay for their education. The parents shall be permitted to send their children to religious or private schools not controlled by government regulation. Teachers shall be permitted to compete in the job market for the best wage. The curriculum taught by the school shall be determined by the schools themselves, with those that match the will of the parents being rewarded by increased enrollment, and therefore, increased funding. |

Message | Socialists who read the description will see that worker's are being given rights by this bill, though it does not infringe upon the rights of another. I trust that this should satisfy their objectives as well? |

Message | We are strongly opposed to article one, which woulod destroy poublic educaiton (yes, we know TIC disagrees, but that is our unalterable belief). On the other hand, we are strongly in support of article two, which we only noticed was included in this bill when we attempted to introduce our own bill with the same proposal. This makes a vote rather difficult. |

Message | Publicly funded education is still provided, publicly run education is not. I will introduce a voluntary education bill as well soon. Message | that doesn't work any more. We are voting no, because we cannot do anything that would end publicly run education. We are however presenting a bill that would permit article 2 to go through. We urge other parties not to consent to a voucher system (in other words, schoolchildren who are not poor must pay for school, a terrible inequality and a bad way to promote education), and instead support a new bill that would pass the other three articles. |

Message | The current system for vouchers does not allow all to be paid for, however, the bill description amends this. |

Date | 18:34:51, September 19, 2005 CET | From | Tuesday Is Coming | To | Debating the Maximizing School Choice for Parents, Teachers, and Students |
Message | How does a company fund travel to and from a store? The transport of a good is included in the cost of the good. Transportation will be included in the cost of the schooling--Therefore covered by vouchers |
