Message | No, no, no.... RDF is against "turkeysation" of Commonwealth (FYI: In Turkey the military has the right to intervene if there is a violation against Constitution). |

Message | .....But RDF, if a person violates our CONSTITUTION (Written Contract of FREEDOM & DEMOCRACY), then the military is ONLY enforcing the power of the PEOPLE who authorizes the Constitution. [OOC] As for Turkey, I'm not sure how it is there, but the RUTANIAN Constitution is inherently DEMOCRATIC [ ; ) ] . |

Message | Constitution may be democratic, but the interpretation of it and also enforcement of it is another thing :-) Enforcement of law and constitution should be only in the hands of civilian government. (There can be military trained police forces- gendarmerie or similar, but everything must be in control of civil government.). Military can only intervene in case of war. |

Message | And war is not serious emergency. It is much much more serious than serious emergency :) |

Message | We agree. What if there is a mahor riot and the police force cant calm the rioters? Will the city have to burn before we ever even think about using the military to help the police force stop the rioting? |

Message | We would support this bill if the definition of "serious emergency" were narrowed to be something like: "Very violent mass riots that are absolutely uncontrollable by the civil police." The military should be a truly last, last, last resort, not to be bandied about recklessly. The real solution to insurrection is not military intervention, but strengthening of police forces. |

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
Random quote: “The people's war isn't just a war of destruction, it is also a war of construction. We will build new facilities, new hospitals, new farms. We will seek to improve the lives of the people around us. This struggle will be as costly as the struggle against the bourgeois army, and indeed will be even more damaging to the enemy.” - Comrade X, former Hulstrian politician |
