Bill: COM 5 Year Defense Force Improvement Plan
Details
Submitted by[?]: Conservative Ordo Malleus (COM)
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2567
Description[?]:
Our defensive forces are aged and in far from working condition. Many vehicles and ships break down every day. Scores of aircraft cannot even take off to patrol the skies. This leaves our defensive forces in a state of dilapidation and unreadiness the likes of which Telamon hasn't seen in over a century. Therefore, we propose the Ministry of Defense spend its 5 year income (from 2566-2570) of 175M TPD: -Spend 50M TPD on Salaries (spread proportionally to all arms of the defense force) -Spend 75M TPD on the Navy (focusing on light craft such as Destroyers, Frigates, and coastal vessels) -Spend 20M TPD on the Air Force (focusing on fast and responsive craft) -Spend 20M TPD on the Army (focusing on equipment for our colder climate) -Spend 10M TPD on Technology (focusing on upgrades to current equipment, better communications, computers, IT, etc) The expenditures should be spread across the 5 years according to the needs of each arm of the defense force. |

Message | We see no proof of these outrageous claims. Our sources inform us that although Telamon's military is not as grand in size as those of countries who allocate more funding, that we are current in technology and that our fighting forces have the most up to date weaponry and tools of defense. Message | Over the past 60 years this party has discussed the poor condition of Telamon's military. It has asked for upgrades and other fixes only to be turned aside. For over 60 years the military has remained in poor condition. Nothing has been said or done to the contrary. We have been here for over 60 years and seen this with our own eyes. Surely no party can refute the need for our nation to have a military that is well supplied, trained, equipped, and prepared in a state of readiness. Or, would a party who does refute that prefer to be under the control of a foreign power or a terrorist? -Thorden Raxney COM Party Leader |

Message | And yet no one has attacked and us and we continue to grow strong peacefully. Amazing what a willingness to trade and a humble foreign policy can do. Leonard Nozick General TACP's Militia |

Message | This is not a case of one or the other. It is possible to be peaceful while having a military that is well supplied, trained, equipped, and prepared in a state of readiness. The two are not exclusive of the each other. Just because trouble has not reached us now doesn't mean it won't. Additionally, a military isn't only useful in times of war. There is a multitude of actions that a military can engage in during times of peace. Peace, sadly, doesn't last forever. Those of us committed to peace must be prepared to defend that peace at any time through the use of defensive forces. -Thorden Raxney Former Prime Minister 2505-2540, 2542-2547 COM Party Leader 2505- |

Message | Then perhaps for 60 years your party has been mislead, because our party, among other parties, have been informed of no technological antiquity, and in fact have been advised that our armed forces are quite technologically current although small in size. Message | Unfortunately, Mr. Lott, your party has not existed as long as we have and therefore your party has not been able to see that what we say is true. Of course, your only experience with this will be from July 2554 until now when your party has been active. I mentioned the 60 plus years of experience in my party to show that this is a long standing problem that has not been rectified, we all share blame on this, and that it needs to be fixed. I mentioned the 60 plus years of experience to show that this is an issue that our word has to be good enough for to cover the time before other parties existed. Therefore, we respectfully ask all parties to vote for this bill. This bill will not raise taxes or spending. It merely provides a broad plan of how the Ministry of Defense should allocate its funds with Parliament's approval. We appreciate the input of other parties and even differing opinions. A variety of opinions makes us stronger. If there is no other debate we will move this to a vote and hope that people love and cherish Telamon enough to pass this legislation. -Thorden Raxney Former Prime Minister 2505-2540, 2542-2547 COM Party Leader 2505- |

Message | If Telamon hadn't withdrawn from our cooperation treaty, we could have helped a lot with the military. We have one of the strongest military, if not the strongest and we count with very good technology, even though not the most modern, to help Telamon out. Unfortunately, I cannot do anything except sending military advisors to help you with the military' renovation. If you want these advisors, please let me know and I will be glad to help, even though we no longer have a cooperation treaty. Good Luck President David Porter |
