Message | The state must have a monopoly of prostitution to protect the prostitutes and make sure STD's are spread. |

Message | Er, I mean 'are not spread'. |
Date | 08:17:44, May 03, 2008 CET | From | Normand Pluralist Party | To | Debating the AFP 6.2570 Prostitution Bill |
Message | Freudian slip? It is best to enable local governments to deal with this issue in the best interests of their communities. In some areas, making prostitution could be a terrible mistake. In others, keeping it legal could have very negative repercussions. |

Message | No, not a freudian slip, I just type to fast. A freudian slip would be if I said penis when I meant to say pencil. |

Message | Actually, a Freudian slip is "an error in speech, memory, or physical action that is believed to be caused by the unconscious mind." (Wikipedia, though M-W says the same). So what you said could certainly be considered a Freudian slip, if your unconscious mind favoured the spreading of STD's (which legalization of prostitution almost certainly does). |

Message | Hm, I always thought a Freudian slip was when you say a similiarly sounding sexual term in place of the word you meant to say. |

Message | Nope. Normand is right on this one. Freud wasn't that dirty, DSP. |
Date | 21:46:58, May 03, 2008 CET | From | Conservative Party | To | Debating the AFP 6.2570 Prostitution Bill |
Message | CP would like prostitution banned entirely. This is a step in the correct direction as now some communities are permitted to ban such unneeded activities. OOC: I concur with AFP and NPP. Although Freud has much fame for some sexual desire studies to the common person but in academia, his work on the unconscious mind is more valuable. I recommend to all to read it. Not necessarily agree, but at least read it. =) |
