Bill: All-Inclusive Cabinet Proposal of October 2112
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democractic Socialist Party of Lodamun
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2113
Description[?]:
It is my opinion that there is too much wrangling in this government and not enough unity so here's a cabinet comprised of all parties (some more than others and I apologize) |

Message | Is there some reason that the minority coalition recieves 6 out of 10 seats? Or that the largest party only recieves one ministry? Or that an absolute pacifist is entrusted with the safety of the Lodamese people? |

Message | Equal "Is there some reason that the minority coalition recieves 6 out of 10 seats?" I'm just leveling the playing field, hoping to make the People's Federation of Lodamun a coalition government - at least on some level, to make a check and balance system. "Or that the largest party only recieves one ministry?" Again, check and balances and I hope they will see it that way too. "Or that an absolute pacifist is entrusted with the safety of the Lodamese people?" That one was, honestly, so that I could influence my ideals on the part of the government that I see as most important and under the most threat. |

Message | not likely to pass. Take one seat away from us and give it to the Conservatives, and there might be a slim chance of approval. |

Message | We cannot vote for any cabinet that gives the defense ministry to a party that wants to ban all arms from Lodamun. |

Message | You voted for a bill that would have banned all defense industries. In the past you have attempted to restrict/ban personal ownership of firearms. |

Message | Don't forget my attempts to ban nuclear, biological, chemical weapons, and arms exports. Oh, and my membership in the International WMD Abolition Movement. I'm not ashamed of my record in non-violence, But I see it as a selling point not a flaw. |

Message | Im just saying we differ on that point. I see the only legitimate role of government to be protecting the citizens. As such, the most important ministries are Defense and Justice, as these are the only places that the government has a right, and a responsibility, to be involved(Foreign Affairs too, but to a lesser extent). Given your many votes of absolute pacifism in the past, I find it hard to believe that the DSP would be able or willing to sufficiently defend Lodamun if needed. |
