Bill: Economic Intervention Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Rutanian Democratic Forum
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2574
Description[?]:
RDF would like to propose a law which will enable the Government to make some interventions in the market. We know that Liberal Party is against that :) RDF also doesn't support government interventionism, but we are interested that state can in some areas behave as an "active regulator"; or rather "facilitator" which helps that some vital parts of the economy don't go down and that they can continue to exist on the market. That is valid for some vital parts of the economy, for example energy companies. This law is also based on opinion poll in Rutania. So, there is a large part of people who would like that government is able to perform such actions. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy on industry and subsidies to industrial operations.
Old value:: The government does not intervene in the market nor provide any form of subsidies/relief to industries.
Current: Certain industries are owned by the state, all others are under private ownership.
Proposed: The government acts as an investor of last resort, by nationalizing failing industries that provide vital goods or services.

Message | We partly agree with this and would really have to be persuaded on this issue cuz we dont like that much intervention either but since we truly ran a very competitive economy, wouldn't this be kinda pointless? The best businesses in the world are vital goods/services for the good of our society because they simply dont run out of business and if they do go bankrupt, wouldn't that create another business opportunity for business people to help run the economy? But on the other hand, this creates a sense of protection to the people but it will increase government spending on industry... |
