Bill: Biological and Chemical Weapons Ban
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Socialist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2575
Description[?]:
The DSP believes that no nation of integrity or morality would ever find cause to commit such an atrocity as the authorised use of biological or chemical agents. Hereby, we move to ban in totality the use in warfare of lethal or long-term-disease-inducing forms of chemical and biological weaponry. At the same time, we realise the importance of researching vaccinations and defences AGAINST the use of such weaponry, and would suggest the authorisation of certain research laboratories to continue - under stringent supervision - developing means of combating a biologically or chemically-induced catastrophe. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy concerning biological and chemical weaponry.

Current: The nation reserves the right to develop, construct and store biological and chemical weapons.
Proposed: The nation shall never purchase, produce, or store biological or chemical weaponry, for military purposes. Research and development of the technology is permitted.

Message | We support it. |
Date | 13:47:38, May 10, 2008 CET | From | Progressive Liberal Party | To | Debating the Biological and Chemical Weapons Ban |
Message | We agree with the complete ban on biochemical weaponry, as we find the "nuclear deterrent" proposed by the JLC to be completely sufficient. Thus, we'll support this bill. However, given that it cannot be passed before the end of the current Senate term, it would be useless to put it to a vote now. The best course of action is reintroducing this bill in the next term (automatically done). |

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining. |
