MessageWe oppose. This would lead to schools in some areas neglecting sex education, and we prefer to make sure all students learn how to protect themselves from pregnancy and STD's.

MessageYes, PLP is right. Widespread ignorance of human sexuality only leads to negative side effects including unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, abortions, single parent households(which are hard on parents and children), and then to an even more widespread collapse in our society.

Which one of those is good for the people?

And please don't tell me it is worth sacraficing so many lives so that religious parents can keep their own children ignorant of the science behind sexual temptation. Also, don't tell me parents should explain this to their own children for three reasons: A) Parents are not trained in any capacity to educate their children on sex, B) given enough generations, the parents will not have even been taught about sex themselves yet will be trying to explain to their children, and C) some parents don't bother to have 'the talk' with their kids so these will be absolutely ignorant rather than mostly ignorant as the other kids will be.

MessageThe US society is far better to live in since we became more open about sexuality.

MessageI disagree. Back then, they defeated the axis, liberated europe, and made us into one of the greatest nations on earth while our generation wears away at that title and can't defeat some rogue organization.

MessageIf we put the same effort into the Iraq war as we had into WWII (not that we should by any means), we'd be in full control within a week.

My point is, people are living happier, more fulfilled lives now-- about the only negative is that the number of hours worked per week is staggeringly high.

Message"I disagree. Back then, they defeated the axis, liberated europe, and made us into one of the greatest nations on earth while our generation wears away at that title and can't defeat some rogue organization." - Ever tried defeating an ideology? It's a lot tougher than defeating a country. One has a military and land to be conquered. An ideology does not. Thus you are comparing apples and oranges and it is a fallacy.

Also, we are way off track with this stuff. Another reason why that reasoning is wrong is that nowadays we have HIV/AIDS and many other STD's being spread by a seemingly more active sexual population because the diseases are more rampant today than it was back then.

MessageThis in no way helps the people. Rather it only damns more of them to pain and death by STD's and struggle by unwanted pregnancies. Get off your high horse and do what's really good for the people and take this bill off the table.

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too.
