Message | The last Parliament Act was rejected on the grounds that it would make elections always fall at "bad times" for the same people. However, the current Senate term length is exactly 6 days of realtime, which means that elections _already_ fall at bad times for the same people - nominally me: the election was at 4-8 AM again. Thus, this proposal enlarges the Senate term to about 6 days and sixteen hour, making elections roll around the clock. We could also support a shortening of the Senate term if other parties want so, our objective is avoiding elections always falling at the same hour of the day. |

Message | Agreed, that's fine... although we noticed you were online during the last elections... |

Message | Yep, I was studying for a test this Monday, I'm not usually up that late. What do other parties have to say? This proposal is a constitutional amendment, requiring 2/3 of the Senate, or 117 votes, to pass. Thus, we need support from everyone. |

Message | I'll need to work this out, and right now it's too late for me to do that. I'm in Beijing, GMT +8, which kinda messes me around a lot. That said, I'm happy to vote for a regularly-differing election time. |

Message | Since there seems to be no more active debate, the PL will move this bill to a vote. |
Date | 03:58:21, May 13, 2008 CET | From | Progressive Liberal Party | To | Debating the Parliament Act, 2574 |
Message | Once again, the PLP would like to encourage every party to vote on this proposal, no matter what the vote is. If you even marginally agree with this proposal, please vote "yes" on it, because it _needs_ 117 votes to pass. |
