To prevent the exploitation of Kundrati citizens we propose a tighter regulation of advertising. In particular advertisers must adhere to the following basic guidelines: 1a) Advertisements must not contain inaccurate or deceptive claims. 1b) All advertising claims must be supportable. 2) Disclaimers must be clearly visible or audible. 3) No advertisement can offer a guarantee or warranty unless the guarantee or warranty is fully and clearly explained. 4) Advertisements must not unfairly discredit, disparage or attack other individuals, products, advertisements or companies 5a) Advertisements must not distort the true meaning of statements made by professionals or scientific groups. 5b) Advertising claims must not imply that they have a scientific basis that they do not truly possess. 6) No advertiser can imitate slogans or illustrations of another advertiser in such a way as to mislead the consumer. 7a) Advertising that is directed towards children must not exploit their immaturity. 7b) Advertising that is directed towards children must not present information or illustrations that might result in their physical or emotional harm. The Senate reserves the right to add to, remove from or modify the current standards in any way. |
