It is in our opinion (and that of the law) that whales are sentient being and as such whaling is murder. This is more just bring this law into harmony with our existing laws on the subject overall. |

Message | Well, such a law would put whalers out of business, and also all the people who are employed. Putting the rights of animals "believed to be sentient" above our citizens who most certainly are, and putting the lives of animals above those of humans, is repugnant. |

Message | Whales are sentient, the fact is not disputed, further more anyone caught whaling is a murderer. Further more our laws recognizes Whales (and dolphins, Elephants and some great apes) as being sentient, thusly this legislation is meant to bring all laws into harmony. Whales (and the above mentioned) have been considered sentient by law for over a century, and protected and give the same basic rights (IE human rights), and thusly this law is more a technicality. |
