Bill: Quality Citizenship Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Aloria United
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2114
Description[?]:
Currently anyone can arrive in the country, walk straight to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and apply to be a citizen. The nation does not know anything about this person, but is willing to gullibly accept them in, no questions asked. We propose that questions *do* be asked. There are currently no mechanisms in place to stop a large influx of people from a foreign country arriving here, claiming citizenship, and voting in the next elections, swinging the power balance. We propose both a citzenship test, and a minimum period of 2 years for permanent residency, and a further 2 years for citizenship. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy concerning granting nationality (national of this state without implication of having citizenship rights).
Old value:: Anyone is able to claim nationality.
Current: Only those born to nationals become nationals.
Proposed: Anyone receives nationality but immigrants must pass a test to gain nationality.

Message | I oppose this legislation. There is no mention of what this test will contain, which leads the SLP to believe it will be based on intellegence. This will not be benificial to our nation. |
