Message | Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Carter Roberson: " First I would like to commend the All-Indralan National League for introducing this legislation to the National Assembly. While I completely agree with the privatization of the power supply and state control on the national power grid, I would like to see the last article removed from the bill, or atleast placed in a seperate bill. I always enjoy opening up industries or certain services to the private sector, however with at least a little bit of government competition. In the service of postal delievery, we think it is not in the interest of the nation to completely privatize it. We would like to still have a government run national post agency to allow for a cheaper form of sending and receiving mail to be available to the masses. As for the possible argument that I flip-flop on the issue of goverment ran vs. private held companies as seems to be the case in this bill. We take into account what sector and/or service of the economy the switch or change is proposed in and discuss among my staffers what would be best for the State of Indrala. I hope that your party will reconsider this part of the bill, and strike it from here." |

Message | We have great argument with the idea of private companies providing essential commodities to people (in this case, power). Openning the current system (that works fine) up to private interference will only confuse people and impose new and changeable power bills upon them. As always, people in competetive areas may benefit, but there is no guarantee that everyone will enjoy fair and equal acces to power that the current system ensures. The same goes for post. Article 2 however is quite acceptable. |

Message | The Post Office section has been split off and the bill renamed accordingly. |

Message | We also wish to point out to the UHT that energy prices in Indrala are regulated to ensure it is affordable for all, and the National Grid will provide connections to all. There is no danger of people being unable to get power off the grid. |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
