Message | We thank the HLP for seeing the wisdom of this progressive cabinet proposal. |
Date | 05:51:47, May 25, 2008 CET | From | Hutori Conservative Council | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of July 2581 |
Message | An unholy alliance between the parties of the far left. The HLP have shown their true colours as communists, carefully hidden by a moderate, Liberal mask. We should have suspected as much. |
Date | 06:03:42, May 25, 2008 CET | From | Liberale Partij (L) | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of July 2581 |
Message | The Liberal Party feels that a left-wing government better reflects the outcome of the war, and the result of the elections. This cabinet proposal also gives us the posts we feel are most important for rebuilding the economy: those relating to healthcare, social services, trade, and finance. With an economically right wing party (us) in charge of the economy, and socially progressive parties in charge of much else... how could we object? That said, we have no objections to governing with conservatives whatsoever. This isn't a principled decision to exclude anyone - merely a pragmatic choice based on what is best for Hutori. |

Message | I'd be interested in how the Hutori Conservative Council interprets this election, and their losses, either way. What do they think a new cabinet should reflect? |
Date | 06:26:27, May 25, 2008 CET | From | Hutori Conservative Council | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of July 2581 |
Message | We believe that the recent terrorist attacks by a group called the Black Legion may have impacted negatively on our election results. The group firmly supported our party, publically, though the feelings are unrequited and are certainly not reciprocated. We think this might have had something to do with our plummet in support, but we make no excuses. We want a cabinet that excludes extremist idealogues. We want a cabinet that reflects sensible social policy, protecting the rights of communities, individuals, families, churches and states. We want a cabinet that will stand for balanced budgets and sound economic policy, whilst ensuring that no citizen of Hutori will be left behind. We want a cabinet that The current cabinet is nothing of the sort. It is an alliance of the far-left, and we are convinced that it will single-handedly bring about the complete destruction of Hutori's society, culture, freedoms, families, traditions, customs, and every other virtue we have traditionally enjoyed. It will roll back decades of positive social and economic reform under a conservative government, as it has already begun to. If the HLP is truly adament about denying their secret communism, we would suggest that they stand against sharing cabinets with extremists. Unfortunately, whilst the HLP's intentions may be good, if they share a cabinet with extremists, this reflects their support of an extremist government and they are therefore no better than the extremists themselves. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. |

Message | If you want a cabinet that excludes extremist idealogues, you certainly should never pe a part of it. |
Date | 06:37:41, May 25, 2008 CET | From | Liberale Partij (L) | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of July 2581 |
Message | Can this not be a civil discussion? You can criticise our voting record, but the claim that the Liberal Party is secretly communist is a bit silly. Lets run the numbers, shall we? 48.8% of our electorate voted for the People Party in the previous election, 33% voted for the Hutori Conservative Council, and 13.9%. for the Conservative Union Party. The amount of communist votes we received is below any statistically significant threshold. The People Party, Green Party and Royalist Party together make up 95% of the second choices of Hutori Liberal Party voters. We aren't left-wing by any standard. Just dangerously centrist. |
Date | 06:39:40, May 25, 2008 CET | From | Democratic Socialist Union | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of July 2581 |
Message | As it stands, we will form a stable, progressive cabinet. We will do our best to govern a nuclear wasteland. |
Date | 08:25:00, May 25, 2008 CET | From | Hutori Conservative Council | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of July 2581 |
Message | We apologise if we have misinterpreted the HLP's support for this cabinet and support for the banning of religion as alligning them with the far-left. We did jump to a conclusion and for this we are sorry. |
Date | 09:44:49, May 25, 2008 CET | From | Conservative Union Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of July 2581 |
Message | I don't think the FGGP will be in a hurry to join a cabinet with you. Or me. Or anyone as a matter of fact. |
Date | 10:02:47, May 25, 2008 CET | From | Liberale Partij (L) | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of July 2581 |
Message | Apology accepted. We hope to continue to work with the conservatives in the future, on issues where we are in agreement. For the time being, though, we pledge to work loyally with our Confederate partners in rebuilding Hutori. |
Date | 11:23:18, May 25, 2008 CET | From | Athlorcaean Liberal Party (R) | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of July 2581 |
Message | We support this cabinet and offer our congratulions to the winners of these elections |
Date | 13:46:42, May 25, 2008 CET | From | Groene ArbeidersPartij | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of July 2581 |
Message | Actually, we are glad that the other left parties still want the FGGP to join, because they would have a majority even without me. And we also realise this is an important task they give us. We will do our best to help reconstructing this country, because the well-being of the people and their environment is our primarly concern. |
Date | 16:46:24, May 25, 2008 CET | From | Democratic Socialist Union | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of July 2581 |
Message | Although we were not happy by recent FGGP actions, their green policies will be needed in the times to come. |
Date | 20:03:00, May 25, 2008 CET | From | Liberale Partij (L) | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of July 2581 |
Message | The Liberal Party would like to congratulate Prime Minister Peter Bestat on his appointment. Isaiah Weber (as Ministry of Finance), John Schlesinger, Jr. (as Ministry of Health and Social Services) and Martha Verhofstadt (as Ministry of Trade and Industry) hope to serve the people of Hutori. |
Date | 20:04:50, May 25, 2008 CET | From | Democratic Socialist Union | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of July 2581 |
Message | We are very much looking forward to working together with the HLP, which will prove to be a valuable asset to our coalition. |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
