Bill: Return to a Civil Society

Details

Submitted by[?]: The Centre Gentlemen's Society

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2584

Description[?]:

It is The Society's notion that people should be able to choose the course of their life as they see fit. The community should regulate what it feels is proper. If the lifestyle a person chooses is not promoted in there community, they should be able to move as they wish to a community that does agree with them. The role of regulation of the community should be left up to the community just as matters of state should stay with the state.

MessageSince we hit an election and this bill was tabled, we were curious of what people found so revolting within this bill. Is it because it allows the individual and community more control over itself? Or is it that it limits government oversight? Please educate us.

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action.
