Message | The SDD supports worker's democracy but this is not to be equated with nationalisation. The workers councils, the freedom to strike and the freedom of the trade union movement is a cornerstone of such a commitment and we are pleased to support such bills. But we believe that markets democratically directed reflects the value of economic and social democracy more readily than state owned enterprises. Sometimes the state must come in (where we oddly parted ways with the PSR in support of the finance nationalisation) but it itself is not a sufficient remedy and can be as abusive as unchecked private power can be. So we will abstain from this legislation. |
