Message | that would mean the military would be free to discriminate. I understand The Liberal Party has this "don't interfere with the military" thing, but isn't this too much? Army service is voluntary, so why should we allow the military to reject who they don't want for racial/religious/any other reasons? |
Date | 00:05:52, May 30, 2008 CET | From | The Liberal Party | To | Debating the Military Service Act |
Message | At this time we do not believe racial discrimination occurs, it is the year 2583. The military should pick the person who is the most qualified, it doesn't matter what skin color the person has. We had this in effect some time ago and there was not a single claim of racial discrimination. |

Message | I can assure you that if the person is qualified, they will be accepted. |

Message | The Minister of Defense General Eisenhower has made this very clear: No racial, gender, or religious discrimination occurs in the military and it will not occur. |

Date | 11:10:31, May 30, 2008 CET | From | Lodamun Libertarian Party | To | Debating the Military Service Act |
Message | I am more uneasy about generals and admirals who still use the rank actively are in the cabinet |
Date | 13:50:42, May 30, 2008 CET | From | The Liberal Party | To | Debating the Military Service Act |
Message | If you tell me how. The Defense Minister or any other cabinet position has never been made to be held by civilians only, so a military person can serve on it. Who better than a General or Admiral to lead the Defense Ministry. |
Date | 21:20:10, May 30, 2008 CET | From | United Republics Party | To | Debating the Military Service Act |
Message | The defense ministry should be under civilian control. |
Date | 21:29:00, May 30, 2008 CET | From | The Liberal Party | To | Debating the Military Service Act |
Message | Show me the law that says so. |
