Bill: Bekenial City becomes Adrianopolis

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Socialist Union

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2584

Description[?]:

It's time to make it official. With Adrianopolis becoming the new capital of the nation, it's time parliament made the name-change official. By passing this bill, Bekenial City shall officially be renamed to Adrianopolis. Adrianopolis is located in the south-east of Adelia.

OOC: I'd appreciate this being approved (needs 2/3) as Adrianopolis has a wiki-article which I worked quite hard on, Bekenial City never had one, and I'd hate to see my work be in vain.

MessageOOC: It's fantastic work and I'd like to applaud you for taking the time to do so. You've made it look amazing. Very well done. But in the interest of the game (and the CUP) I'll have to vote no. I don't think Union supporters would like the changing of the official name.

IC: No.

MessageOOC: That was pretty obvious, you and the HCC can vote no for IC reasons, obviously, but I'd really like the rest to vote yes, so it'll pass anyway.

MessageOOC wouldn't that already prohibit a 2/3rds majority?

So if everyone votes yes, we'd have a 2/3 majority, barely.

MessageI think we should start making some rules for our nation, like when more of 5% of Parliament becomes vacant we HAVE to organise early elections.

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election.

Random quote: "I have come to the conclusion that politics are too serious a matter to be left to the politicians." - Charles de Gaulle
