Bill: Responsible Gunowners Act of 2584

Details

Submitted by[?]: Genuine Progress Alliance

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2585

Description[?]:

This bill aims to allow only adults to legally own guns provided that they have a license and that they have no record of violent behavior and/or mental illness.

As you vote on this bill, let us allow you to illustrate our point: A normal baby does not have violent criminality and mental illness (please note the terms; an average baby is mentally incapable but may or may not be mentally ill). Therefore, he/she can own a gun according to current laws. Can you allow the future of Aloria to be exposed quickly to such a hostile environment? And since the development of a human being can be influenced by the type of exposure it received in its environment, can you allow these babies to grow up with the idea that guns are just commonplace things and no longer regards it as a very fatal weapon?

MessageSpeaking as a firearm user, the question is not the presence of guns, but the social attitude surrounding them. Isolating people from guns does not address the underlying questions that use them as weapons of violence. This is getting dangerously close to pre-emptive policing.
