Whereas, We agree that religious ministers should be able to be paid, but Whereas, We do not want L. Ron Hubbards and Elmer Gantrys to fleece their flocks, We hereby propose the position in between our nation's long-standing no-remuneration position and the current unregulated position, that the maximum remuneration shall be set by law. The maximum remuneration for a religious leader shall be equal to triple the average pay of all full-time workers. |

Old value:: The state does not intervene in the remuneration of ministers of religion.
Current: Ministers of religion shall receive no remuneration whatsoever.
Proposed: The salaries and pensions of ministers of religions shall be regulated by the law, but shall be borne by the religious communities themselves.
