Bill: Proposal to Fix Wouter's Error and Reinstate Progressivity to Taxes
Details
Submitted by[?]: Populist Liberal Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2115
Description[?]:
It's on the forums: Wouter screwed up and reset all income taxes to default. So, we're re-proposing to get us back basically to where we were. We're allowing a very slightly larger revenue gain this time, although this is still basically revenue neutral and cuts taxes for the poor and lower middle class, only raising them for the rich and more than doubling the amount of money one can make before one pays any income tax at all. We allowed for a small revenue gain to be sure that we could afford the proposal to end the sales tax on necessities. We would propose reforming all taxes, including eliminating the sales tax on necessities, within this bill but people might take that as not following common courtesy guidelines. |

Message | I'm a bit confused. Is this the exact* same proposal as we passed last time? |

Message | No, but very similar. I didn't look the old proposal up, which I might have done, but decided instead to try to achieve the same goals but gain a small amount of revenue to be sure we could always afford the zero sales tax on essentials that is currently proposed in another proposal. If I need to copy the other proposal exactly to get it passed, I will do so. So please tell me if that is what I need to do. |

Message | Moving to a quick vote because this (or a very similar bill) should still be in effect except for an error and also so that the KPP can vote on it before the hurricane knocks him off.... |
