Bill: Creation of New Cabinet Positions
Details
Submitted by[?]: The Liberal Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2591
Description[?]:
Even though the following positions are unofficial advisors, we would like to make them part of the cabinet. They won't cost any money since their resources are provided by the Defense Ministry. The nominees for these positions must be included along with the cabinet proposal unless no change is needed. The following positions are going to be included in the cabinet: 1- National Security Advisor 2- Director of the National Security Agency (NSA) 3- Direcor of the Lodamun Counter-Intelligency Agency (LCA) 4- Director of the National Bureau of Investigations (NBI) |

Message | Well this would be a constitutional change and so require 2/3 of the votes. I dont see the need to establish this positions as cabinet members, especially not the National security advisor. I think 1 should just be used as a title for the presidents top advisors on national security, not as a minister post. Also 1 and 2 would do the same it seems from the name. 2,3 and 4 I think dont really need to be included in the cabinet because we do not live in a police state and as such do not need to add the spy (2 and 3) and police (4) chiefs to the cabinet |

Message | They will not become Ministers, just part of the cabinet. The National Security Advisor is a different person from the Director of the NSA. I want to add more importance to those people. |

Message | You dont need to add any more importence to those people, they are already powerful enough as it is. And how can they be a member of the cabinet without being a minister? |

Message | Part of the cabinet doesn't automatically mean you HAVE to be a Minister. Since this is Constitutional Amendment anyways, there is no need to fight about being Minister or not. We are not opening any new Ministries, we are simply adding new people to the cabinet. I know they are powerful people, that's why I think they deserve to be part of the cabinet. |

Message | I don't like it. It complicates things Can't we give them their own special sector that goes up for vote through the cabinet? |

Message | Since they are advisors to the President, the President chooses his/her advisors. The same with the Cabinet. I am actually trying to give more power to Parliament, a rare thing coming from me. |

Message | It is indeed rare, but at the same time you are expanding the executive branch with 4 new cabinet positions |

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections. |
