Bill: No Inappropriate Advertisements Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Totalitarian Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2116

Description[?]:

Presently, anything is allowed in advertisements. An excellent example of the way this law can be abused can be seen here: http://82.238.75.178:8085/particracy/main/viewbill.php?billid=19986. We feel the citizen's of our nation should not be subjected to such filth. With this in mind, we propose the following regulations:

* Any advertisement containing material inappropriate for young people (nudity, sex, excessive swearing) may only appear where there is a greatly reduced chance of a minor viewing it.

* Advertisements may not depict graphic violence or injury unless there is just cause.

* Advertisements must not deceive consumers.

MessageI do not see how this is abuse. This is a legitamite advertisment showing your parties ideals.

MessageIt may be considered offensive by some people. We feel these images should only be shown where they have a reduced chance of being seen by someone who may not like them. The Totalitarian Party ads show we believe in freedom of sexual preference, but the images are not quite appropriate for display in a busy city mall.

MessageIf it is offensive to them, do not look. It is not worth restricting the rights of the people because a majority or a minority find it offensive.

MessageHow about this advertisement? (Note: Violates my second suggested regulation.)

What effect do you think that will have on people who inadvertently glance at it? Those that find it offensive may become ill or faint at the sight of it.

I could use the goatse image, and have "The other parties are arseholes" above it. Do you want that all over Gaduridos? We must regulate advertisements.

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that.

Random quote: The Wolfsheim Virus is not a real actual disease in the conventional medical sense of the term. Rather, it is a cluster of symptoms which are just part of the general socio-economic disease that is capitalism. The main symptoms the sufferers are experiencing are a direct result of capitalist poverty, as in malnutrition, poor housing and so on, combined with psycho-somatic symptoms which are a direct consequence of the contradictions and stresses which are inherent to the capitalist system. ~ Friedrich Pfeiffer, General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party
