| On behalf of my party, I would like to express my enormous gratitude to the Diet for rescinding the legislation declaring trade unions illegal organisations. Myself and my members can now operate without fear of being prosecuted. However, a lot more still needs to be done in order to normalise the position of trade unions within the Luthori. | Message | Mr Speaker, We are not opposed to the spirit of this bill, in principle, but feel that the bill needs to be re-drafted with watertight clauses explaining, for example, who decides what is reasonable. If we leave such a decision in the hands of the first judge who happens to rule on the matter, then he could set a precedent that the employer decides what is reasonable: then this bill will have achieved nothing. |
