MessageThe PPP as discussed this item in the last comitee. We understand, the present legislation is obsolete, however it's clear to us that this proposal goes way to far, the states needs to regulate ownership of guns, not everyone is able tocarry a weapon.

So, we will vote against this bill, and after its votation we shall present that:
Adult individuals may own guns under strict license conditions.

MessageWould the proposal become more palatable if it included a provision that people with a history of mental illness may not posses weapons? If this would sway parties to voting in favour of the legislation, we might consider it.

MessageThe SRP feels the current laws regarding this matter are apropriate. So we are inclined to vote against any proposals to change it. On the other hand, we can agree that some porposals are worse than others, so we could reach a compromise and agree to vote in favor of a more restrictive proposal.
