I'll write something up later, but you should check out the Public Security Section set-up, since they all have different roles, Section 1 being the general police.

MessageOOC: I hadn't noticed that, and I like the divisions and special divisions. I slightly adjusted the bill so that all officers that serve on the streets (IE: non-desk jobs) are required to keep their certification current. Governmental Oversight, for instance, probably wouldn't need to draw weapons. At least, I don't think any of you are going to need to have Sekowo cops bust down your door, I know I won't ;)

MessageThe bill is updated. I specified (based on your link) what forces must train, and what forces are trained voluntarily. Essentially, forces that are more likely to encounter violent opposition must train in lethal weapons, since they are very likely to need to use them. Adding the link to the bill, also.

As before, suggestions/opinions/comments welcome, to perfect the bill a bit.

MessageSince normal police can only use non-lethal weapons, I'm not sure that they all need to be trained in lethal weapons.

The ones that would would be;
-Section 2
-Section 5
-Section 8
-Section 9

As for government oversight, well they'd probably just get Section 9 to help if they needed weapons.

Oh, and Section 9 is based on Public Security Section 9 form the anime Ghost in the Shell to give you an idea of what ti does.

MessageWe feel that government oversight officers should be armed. Remember: Our senators can come to work fully armed legally in Sekowo.

We support, and we'd support more the more of the units that are required to receive this training.

MessageHm, perhaps we should make some law that says that firearms are'nt allowed on public property IE government buildings, schools and parks.

MessageI would fully support that government buildings (hospitals, schools), should have limited access to those with firearms. I don't see a problem with carrying weapons in most cases, but concealing a weapon in such an area, now that we disagree with.

Back on task though. Common police are required to train for lethal weapons, that was most of the idea. That way we don't have police forces just firing blindly, not having the skill to drop a fleeing suspect cleanly. Without training, we could have incidents where officers wound nearby civilians, or cause fatal injury, etc... Training reduces the risk of that.

MessageOOC: You're fine, and I understand. I actually was discussing with NPP last night about how terrible the rigid wording makes this law feel. What I intended was to have the law "all police officers must be trained in the use of lethal weapons", and this was really the only way to say it other than "giv teh polise gunz harhar!" :P

MessageOOC: Moving this to vote. BTW IMF, you can thank Iori/DSP for the old bill. He sent me a message linking me up with that topic once he noticed I was going to go into detail with this one. And, actually, it really helped me out because it more clearly defines the specific training required for roles in the force.

Depending on if my current RPGs keep moving at a snail's pace, I may vent all my RP frustrations out on you guys.. lol.

Also, you wouldn't believe the trouble we had with getting the cyber crimes section approved.
