Bill: Resolution condemning the Organization of Drug Exporting Nations

Details

Submitted by[?]: Federal Republican Party (UCF)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2600

Description[?]:

Although we do not agree with them, we see that the legalisation stance the PP, NP and MAU have on drugs is not lucratif, as they have this position only out of concern for civil rights., and as far as we know the first two parties are only in favour of legalising cannabis, and nothing more.

On the other hand, this treaty exists in part to provide a market for many drugs that are completely illegal in Mordusia, such as Heroin, proposes that the hideous drug trade be kept alive throughout all of Terra, although in many countries, drugs are illegal.

As this organization is in direct violation of Mordusian legislation (the only legal drug in Mordusia is cannabis), we propose a condemnation of this treaty, so that are stance against hard drugs is known.

OOC: We ask the NP to excuse us in case of any incorect information, we assume you hold this stance because of your voting record.

MessageThe MAU wished to alter the condemnatory resolution to read so that it condemns the exportation of drugs to societies that ban them.

Also, we would like a copy (OOC: A link, or so) of the treaty establishing the ODEN.

MessageThe MAU must decline to offer it's vote of condemnation. The articles of the treaty are those which the MAU completely supports, and the wording of the treaty does not seem to promote the exportation of drugs into countries which do not allow them. The wording "keep the trade" refers most likely to political campaigning, which the MAU does not have a problem with.

MessageWe are very disapointed that the MAU refuses to condemn a treaty that seeks to keep a market for hard drugs that are completely illegal in Mordusia.

MessageIt is the right of the nations to set the policy of their individual nations. To condemn this treaty is to condemn the OTHER nations' national soverignty. We will not accept this.
