MessageThis is a terrible idea.

This proposal will force poorer residents to send their kids to the bad public schools, while wealthy parents will still send their kids to the good private schools.

Imagine that a cheap private school costs TRA3000 per year, a mid-range private school costs TRA4500 per year and a highend school costs TRA6000 per year.

Vouchers are currently issued with a cash equivalence of TRA3000. If the parent wants to send their kid to a mid-range school, it costs here TRA1500 per year.

In your example, if the parent wants to send their kid to escape the public system and go to a mid-range private school, it will cost her TRA4500.

Rich people can afford this additional cost, but poorer parents cannot, which is why poor kids will end up in crappy public schools and rich kids in better private schools.
