| Message | This cabinet proposal represents the same left bloc coalition which has formed the government for the last 3 cycles. It represents the breakdown along seat lines in Parliament. SPoK has taken over the Chancellor seat, but other than that all SPoK ministries are the same. R&FP retains all three ministries, but loses the Chancellor Seat. NDPoK keeps Food and Agriculture and Environment and Tourism, and has has been named Justice Minister, picking up a seat in the Cabinet. PPP retains Science and Technology and Internal Affairs, but loses a seat in the cabinet. We believe this cabinet is fair to all all our Partners, and if the left is to succeed we need to vote as a bloc and plan our legislation so that all Parties may agree with it and cast a vote for it. To this end, I fully encourage all Parties to use the Kalistan Left Alliance site to make early proposals on bills and see if there is any significant objection to legislation before it is officially proposed. Here's the legislative breakdown. SPoK + RFP + PPP= 354 Seats, the thinnest majority I think I have seen and the smallest number of Parties needed to form a government. SPoK+ RFP + NDPoK + PPP = 456 Seats, Not nearly enough to accomplish a 2/3rds majority on anything but a good solid and reliable majority. RFP + NDPoK + PPP = 305 Seats, Not a Majority (Any Party + ILDA) = A majority of various strengths, though only SPoK or R&FP + ILDA makes a 2/3rds supermajority. The left has been successful legislatively, though we are nearing an equilibrium position with the right now. There are four Parties on the left and one Party on the right. It's simple mathematics. Please consider this proposal. |
