Bill: Spiritual Education Bill
Details
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2602
Description[?]:
The forcing of teacher-led prayers in classes will lead to minority indigenous or migrant religions not being properly addressed except in specially designated religious schools. This can only result in consequent segregation by religion as children will only be with those of the same faith and not interact in an environment of multicultural tolerance. Leaving this decision to schools allows for flexibility to suit the sensitivities of local populations: The Diet should promote integration, not fragmentation. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy with respect to prayer in schools.
Old value:: Teacher-led prayers are mandatory in schools.
Current: Teacher-led prayers in schools are forbidden, except in religious schools.
Proposed: The government leaves this decision up to the schools themselves.

Message | Although the Hulstrian Nationalist Party renounced it's ancient policies of apartheid when it reconstituted itself in 2567, we remain committed to the preservation and expansion of Hulstrian culture in the Imperial Crownlands of Greater Hulstria. We suggest that in order to solve the issues presented by the honourable authors of this bill, they encourage their followers and other Gishotoi to convert to Christianity if they have not done so already. Please note that the present governmental policy does not stipulate that all children must join in on the class prayers. It merely stipulates that educators must lead a prayer. There is no infringement of the freedom of religion, in the opinion of the HNP. |
