In return for their trust, the state must give the people these most basic of liberties.
We fail to see how these are anything other than victimless forms of self-expression.

MessageNo, crossdressing male to female should be prohibited. Public nudity can be an affront to a younger audience

MessageNot incredibly opposed. But would not classify these as "basic liberties."

MessageRPC: It's potential to be an 'affront' is surely only born out of the perverse restrictions on self-expression that we currently have in place. It is necessary to change that culture of restriction and your predicted public perception of such things will shift with the change anyway.

CP: Surely the right to present one's body as one chooses is a basic liberty? (as long as it adheres to other legislation in areas such as advertising and the use of the national flag)

(btw: is there an agreed time limit on keeping bills up for debate here? Jelbania had one, but I can't remember whether it was a legislative/constitutional element or a 'gentleman's agreement' ?)

MessageNudity is not a form of self expression, it is a form of obscenity. At present our laws are against barring of sexual organs, something which we can do without children seeing. Nudity should be restricted to those places where such affronts can be avoided.

Basic liberties are those such as life and freedom of thought. Another freedom is freedom from obscenity, something this law will be breaking. See, making up basic freedoms works both ways!

(No, keep it as long as you feel is necessary, but if it stays up without any debate people tend to get irritated)

MessageWe are interested in the RPC's opinion of 'the worst potential outcome' of children being exposed to viewing sexual organs? We would also add that these organs are not purely 'sexual' and that the children are already 'exposed' to viewing their own anyway.

MessageActually yes, they are. Those organs are purely designed for that purpose. That in males two purposes are combined is irrelevant.
The worst potential outcomes: Higher resulting pedophilia, premature sexual knowledge leading to young pregnancies/loss of innocence/heightened dangerous curiosity.

MessageWe don't see urinating and breast feeding (if that area of the body was included in your initial reference) as sexual processes.
We feel that the later claims are at best unsubstatiated and at worst fallacious.
Statistics have shown a correlation between low levels of sexual assault, teenage pregnancies etc. and natural exposure to nudity, information on the subject and a liberal approach to the area in general in countries where the latter is the reality an/or law.

MessageA liberal approach is quite different from regular barring of genitals to children and the general populace.
Urinating should not be carried out in public as is. Breast feeding is a quite different matter, as it requires instant response and is simply a feeding process. However, we understand those who would prefer it not to be carried out in the middle of a crowded street.

MessageOur references to urinating and breast feeding were solely aimed at highlighting the non-sexual functions of those body parts.
