MessageWhilst of course early elections are certainly enjoyable, we ask that the Assembly waits at least nine months in order to allow our voice to be heard by the electorate. There are currently three new interesting political parties in early stages of development, and giving them more time to turn into major political parties is in the interests of the Assembly and the electorate. Furthermore there are various Bills currently in the voting stages and it would be a waste of time to put them back to the debating stages in order to have unnecessary early elections.

MessageThe Athlorcaean Liberal Party does not agree with that assessment. Because the political landscape has grown so much more diverse, we'd like the electorate to give a ruling whether the ALP should be allowed to continue to govern. Most of our agenda has been put to vote at this point, anyway.

Also: welcome to Hutori.

MessageThis was an unfair and twisted decision. Our party had bills lined up and the LIberals could not wait for a year?

MessageWe decided it would be in the best interest of the country to have a vote now. The greens had decided that they would no longer endorse us, so a ruling on who was to govern was only democratic.

Besides, the United Socialist Party of Athlorcaea has seats now whereas previously they had none. At the next election they will probably get even more seats, if their policies are good.

MessageI am not and still and not sensing any good intentions out of this call made just by the Liberal Government.

MessageWell, I'll admit that we don't call elections based on the basis giving *other* parties as many seats as possible. We call elections on the basis of sound political and democratic arguments.

In this case, the arguments -were- sound: we've reformed the budget, installed some new pro-business policies, increased investment in infrastructure, and (importantly) pushed through constitutional reform on the issue of voting. When the greens withdrew support for our campaign (a decision we respect) it made sense to call new elections.

Four years from now, there are going to be new elections. And as always, we'll happily cooperate with every party on issues of mutual interest. We expect to be defending the civil rights of our people in this term together with the socialists.
